Tightening a limit takes effect immediately. Relaxing or removing one is subject to a waiting period before it applies, so a decision made in a difficult moment cannot take effect in that same moment.
A cap on how much you can pay into your account over a set period. You can set a daily, weekly and monthly limit, and they work together — whichever is reached first stops further deposits until that period resets.
This is the single most effective control on the site, because it acts before money is at risk rather than after.
A ceiling on your net losses over a daily, weekly or monthly period. Unlike a deposit limit, this one accounts for money you have won and staked again, so it reflects what the session is actually costing you.
When the limit is reached, real-money play stops for the remainder of the period.
A cap on how long a single session can run, and on how long you can be logged in over a day or a week. When the limit is reached you are notified and the session ends.
A reality check is the lighter version: a message at an interval you choose, telling you how long you have been playing and how you stand. Time passes strangely during play, and this is the cheapest correction available.
A short, defined break. Your account is locked for real-money play for the period you choose, and it reopens automatically when that period ends. Your balance and verification stay exactly as they were.
Use it when you want to stop for a while without making a permanent decision. A break is not a failure — it is the tool working as intended.
Self-exclusion goes further than a cooling-off period, and in Ontario it goes further than this site.
